Greetings, Tribe!
Another busy two weeks have come and gone. I’m pleased to share that I followed my plan ALMOST perfectly (missed my target one day) and my run streak is still going strong!
My love for running is starting to return. I started reading Deena Kastor’s new book, Let Your Mind Run, and am loving it! Started listening to running podcasts again (Carrie Tollefson’s C Tolle Run is my current favorite), and Sunday’s 7.5 mile “long” run was heavenly. The Boston Marathon is next week (no, I’m not running, but I’ll be cheering wildly) and I could not be more excited. It’s as though the entire city is populated with runners. Is there anything better than that?!
I also picked some new gear last week. Lululemon is now being sold at Athletic Annex (local running store) and selected me as a sort of ambassador for their product. My job is to be sure that the community realizes that Lululemon not only support the yoga community, but running as well. While visiting their store in Indianapolis I took home a new pair of their Fast and Free 7/8 tight. Absolutely heavenly! My legs have never looked and felt so good! So many pockets and moves with your body like a second skin. The perfect reward for some hard work!
In my quest to perfect my shoe, I attempted to put a Powerstep Pulse orthotic into my shoe for my run on Sunday. I didn’t even make it out the front door, as the arch was too high for running. Next experiment I believe will be trying a heel lift in my Hokas. Stay tuned!
The 5k is less than two weeks away, spring is allegedly around the corner and I am ready to log some more miles! Happy trails, my friends!
