Greetings, Tribe!
I took a little break from blogging to focus on my family and the holidays, but now I’m back!!
2019 my theme was “No Excuses.”
I decided that I was tired of making excuses as to why every race I ran was not the outcome I had desired. To always finish disappointed was exhausting and something had to change. I called (well, emailed and then we called each other) Neely Spence Grace and she had room for me on her team and was willing to coach me. Clearly it was the right decision as I ran the Chicago Marathon 20 minutes faster in 2019 than I did in 2018.
In 2019 I decided to take my health more seriously. I found physicians I actually trust and respect and got all of my checkups in. If I want to be the best shape for running and for my family, I need to take care of this as well.
Every Fall I get this strong, nagging feeling that there is something more I need to do with my life and career. Not only do I feel that I have many more gifts to share than just music, but I also need another source of income to feel financially secure during the summer months when music work is thin. One year I did a medical study with the VA. This year I decided to start coursework on becoming and Health and Wellness Coach. I’ll post more about this later (I am taking clients bows though, so feel free to message me!!), but it has already improved my quality of life and I have met so many wonderful people along this journey.
2020’s theme is “Dream a Little and Dreams Will Be.” (This theme should always be sung, by the way). I’m not ready to divulge what this will look like, but 2020 is going to be epic.
Happy Trails!
